The required hourly wage by law could differ in each and every state across the country. California is one of the states that have the highest hourly wage required by their minimum wage laws. Although each state has its separate minimum wage laws, some states have companies that are excused from the minimum wage law. In such cases where they are exempt from the wage laws, they will need to follow the hourly rate that is applied through federal law. California is a state where its employers are required to be familiarized with the minimum wage laws for their state. As per fact that employers are required to be familiarized with the minimum wage laws, you should become aware of the law as an employee as well. The following article will help you to in finding out what minimum wage law you should become aware of for the state of California.

Step 1 – Be on familiar terms with your current employment standings. There are certain categories of employment that actually are an exception to the minimum wage laws. Specifically for example, anyone that earns commission through sales is exempt from the minimum wage law. Another type of employment that is exempt of the minimum wage laws would be anyone working for a nonprofit organization. The way to find out whether you are an exception to the minimum wage law you should go check the Fair Labor Standards Act which lists all of the types of jobs that are exempt. Some jobs have a particular stipulation that applies to it when it comes to the minimum wage law. An example for this would be a sheepherder. A sheepherder is required by the minimum wage laws of California to receive a set salary of $1200 every month. The set salary set by minimum wage laws could fluctuate depending by other necessary expenses that the employer may need to provide.

Step 2 – You need to be a law abiding citizen of the state of California by preventing yourself from working under what is required by the minimum wage law. By agreeing to work for an amount that is less than the state minimum wage laws can have you getting in big trouble. Be sure to make sure of this as you are signing your contract to begin a new job. The contract will be a set agreement with you and your employer, your responsibility to make sure that it abides by all of the laws is crucial. No matter your age or race, the same minimum wage law should apply to everybody.

Step 3 – If you feel as though you are witnessing a violation of the minimum wage law, you should report this to the labor commissioner of the DLSE (Division of Labor Standards Enforcement). From the report that you file, the DLSE will then take further looks into the wage claims that were made to see if this should be taken to court. If it is seen that the company has violated the minimum wage laws you may be rewarded the amount that you are owed and perhaps even more for any financial subsidies that may have been rendered.

Law

Laws are a set of rules that are set to govern society. It is comprised of a set of institutions that are set to define and enforce these laws. Laws are designed to keep people in line with what is deemed morally correct. Based on the laws, people will behave in a way that is acceptable. A law is to be followed in order to make our communities civilized and safe.

Those held responsible for making the laws of the land are the government. The government makes up a series of political officials and work to initiate new policies as well as perfect the policies that are already in place. A law is decided in a series of different ways, depending on what country, state, or even city that you live in. A law can be presented by a government official, then voted on by a by members of the board. If that law receives a certain number of votes, then that law will be passed. There are some countries, states, or cities will pass laws a different way. Some governing bodies may, for instance, not need anyone to vote on a law in order to get the law established. A law may be put into order simply because the political leader said that they would like to have it practiced. Some places, all they need to do is declare the law in order to make it official. Laws that are put into place this way are typically initiated under the direction of a dictatorship.

If these laws are not properly followed, there will be consequences for the actions that you take. In this case, law enforcement agencies will detain you in order to punish you for the act that you have committed and see to it that you do not disobey the law again. Law enforcement agents are responsible for regulating and making sure that things stay in order.

Laws that are suspected to be broken have to be proven in a court of law. If you have broken one of the laws established by your government and there is enough evidence in the case that points toward you, then you will be sent to jail. If you are sent to jail, then you will go to court in order to be tried for that crime. The laws that you are accused to have broken will be the basis for your court case. The judge and/or the jury that is trying your case will determine if you are, in fact, guilty of breaking the laws that you have been accused of. From there, if you are guilty, you will be sentenced to a prison time that meets your crime, or in some places, depending on the nature of the crime, you may even get the death penalty.
