Law

Laws are a set of rules that are set to govern society. It is comprised of a set of institutions that are set to define and enforce these laws. Laws are designed to keep people in line with what is deemed morally correct. Based on the laws, people will behave in a way that is acceptable. A law is to be followed in order to make our communities civilized and safe.

Those held responsible for making the laws of the land are the government. The government makes up a series of political officials and work to initiate new policies as well as perfect the policies that are already in place. A law is decided in a series of different ways, depending on what country, state, or even city that you live in. A law can be presented by a government official, then voted on by a by members of the board. If that law receives a certain number of votes, then that law will be passed. There are some countries, states, or cities will pass laws a different way. Some governing bodies may, for instance, not need anyone to vote on a law in order to get the law established. A law may be put into order simply because the political leader said that they would like to have it practiced. Some places, all they need to do is declare the law in order to make it official. Laws that are put into place this way are typically initiated under the direction of a dictatorship.

If these laws are not properly followed, there will be consequences for the actions that you take. In this case, law enforcement agencies will detain you in order to punish you for the act that you have committed and see to it that you do not disobey the law again. Law enforcement agents are responsible for regulating and making sure that things stay in order.

Laws that are suspected to be broken have to be proven in a court of law. If you have broken one of the laws established by your government and there is enough evidence in the case that points toward you, then you will be sent to jail. If you are sent to jail, then you will go to court in order to be tried for that crime. The laws that you are accused to have broken will be the basis for your court case. The judge and/or the jury that is trying your case will determine if you are, in fact, guilty of breaking the laws that you have been accused of. From there, if you are guilty, you will be sentenced to a prison time that meets your crime, or in some places, depending on the nature of the crime, you may even get the death penalty.
